My dad has a pretty slow laptop, I gave it to him as a gift since he was looking to watch baseball live at work.

Intel atom N455, 1gb ram ddr2 and intel gma 3150 64mb.

I want to give it a second use with an android on pc, is there any android x86 system for simple streaming applications like, YouTV Player, or MXL TV? I don't want to use it for gaming, I have my personal pc and I have Darkmatter for that. I would appreciate some guidance on my problem.

I don't know what streaming application you mean, it's just that for 1 GB RAM it is recommended to only use Android x86 AOSP.
With the android x86 system I had many incompatibilities in applications, let's say I had to choose between Prime Os or Phoenix Os, but both ask for more than 1gb in memory.

So I should not try it until I get a 2gb ram.

Thanks anyway

Try lightweight linux distro . Like Puppy linux etc . Just do some research and find the most compatible one

Try BlissOS pie and disable most background services.
I found a middle ground for the computer, Prime OS lite worked best for me. With about 1gb of ram it makes good use of what little it has and despite not having play store I was able to install the application I was looking for.

No overheating, no problem with apps. Except for the root that forbids me to do by a certain error that mentions that the files are only in read mode.

No tiene servicios de google play y no te deja instalarlos, dice que no es compatible con el sistema, da algunos inconvenientes si buscas jugar pero no en mi caso.
Have you checked how much RAM is used?

It is maintained by the 536mb target in use. I don't have the laptop nearby to credit a capture but I remember google play services used 164mb of ram by itself.

Prime OS Classic original uses about 800mb on my personal computer which has 6gb of ram, also, when opening a game in full screen it just goes black while the sound of the game still works.

For starters - the prefix on prime os classic without GMS is 500mb. so it's true that gms uses 150mb.

I suggest using a shell script to clear ram every 1-5 minutes with echo 3 > /proc/sys/vm/drop_caches
Helps for 1gb ram devices

Now that I notice it, I can't take screenshots either, it gives another error. It uses in general 673mb.

I guess it's because of "Lite" I guess as long as my dad is happy with using his live TV app I shouldn't worry about it.
