i got intel 7th with intel hd 620 igpu kernels many works just fine i use 4.13.5 and 4.19.188 mostly mesa 17.x , 20.1.x , those doesn't support vulkan for intel gpu i915 the rest of version are supporting vulkan but with different version of vulkan like Mesa 20.3.5 its vulkan version...

I had same for problem with kernel 5.x.x never booted .. but I found 2 of 5.x.x from other sources not from SG kernels that can run and give great performance .. I am not sure if it's allwed to upload it her ..so if you text me with any shared cloud I can upload their both kernels ..
