I also have the same issue as "madlonewolf" (11th gen i7), disabling Secure Boot will not fix loading into installation, instead I have to extract all files from the Blissos iso onto an ext4 partition and use grub2win bootloader in order to get a boot.

After testing many android x86 iso's on my current PC Tablet, none of them goes into the installation (black screen) rarely load the live version (usually black screen), using grub2win made some of these android x86 iso's boot, but some had issues either with Bluetooth, touch screen, audio, gyro sensor. I remember my older PC Tablet goes into the installation and can boot nearly every android x86 iso's with few to no hardware issues.

But these builds posted here are the best ones I found so far and stable for my current PC. Nearly all hardware works properly and can load many of my older games. Bluetooth finally works, which allows me to use my gamepads and wireless headset. The only Problem I am having is that something is Forcing Landscape view (i need auto-rotation for my tablet), i tried changing configuration with launchers included with these builds, even in settings tried changing things and also tried changing many settings with included auto-rotation app, and could NOT get it to rotate the screen automatically.

Also Audio (speaker) & mic are not working, but audio in a Bluetooth headset does work, otherwise app compatibility and system stability is great. I know for a fact that the auto rotation hardware does work in my tablet because certain gyro sensor games are able rotate, but i need auto rotation to work at will and to disable what ever is causing forced landscape.

if someone has a solution to get auto rotation to work properly, i would highly appreciated some feedback.
lastly, I need help "ROOTING" these builds, every method that I know for root, will not work on these build.
Use initrd-magisk for root.
If the build has KernelSU, then you will have to use kernelSU manager app.

I tried it with advanced installer too and it didn't worked ,how did you use grub2win after copy files
Advanced Installer did not work for me as well, but used grub2win to bypass this for as my Dell PC tablet really doesn't like to boot anything Linux based

Here's a quick guide:
1) Advanced Android-x86 Installer For Windows v1.8 - This is only needed for it to install a app called "ExtFS Drivers By SupremeGamers"
2) EXT4 Partition - You need to create an ext4 partition any size you want your Android OS to be (Assuming you already know how to resize, create/format partitions)
3) Mount the EXT4 Partition using "ExtFS Drivers By SupremeGamers" - NOTE: if you an error message: " :( Unfortunately, service is not running", just click "Restart the service" and the program will reload properly.
4) Copy the from files from the iso to your EXT4 Partition - enter the root directory of the ext4 drive and create and give it any filename you like, now mount BliSS OS Iso copy all folder and files into your newly created folder, and lastly create a new folder and rename it to "data" (NOTE: if for some strange reason you can't mount the bliss OS iso, then get 7zip and extract all the contents onto your newly created folder)
5)grub2win as the default bootloader - download/install and open the program it should automatically set grub2win upon first launch as the default bootloader, incase it doesn't, while at the main menu, click "set grub2win as the default"
6) Adding Android x86/blissos entry unto the grub bootloader - in the main menu of grub2win, click "Manage Boot Menu", now click "Add A New Entry", in the "type" selection, select "Android", now click "Select A New Android Kernel File" box and browse to your newly created folder on your EXT4 drive and select "Kernel", hit "apply", then "Ok" ,"ok" and close grub2win.
7) Restart your computer and grub2win bootloader will now show the "Android 64 bit" entry select and boot it.
Done.

Note: if The Bliss OS doesn't boot, that means you will need to try other androidx86 iso's to see if they load or not. I've tested a number of android iso's, most of them boot using this method, but some don't. This method is a way to bypass the black screen when attempting to use live CD installation.

Hope this helps.

Where do i download "initrd-magisk"? or how can i dump/create this, what utilities do I need? This blissos build does not use the typical files that are known for rooting. Can you please provide a download link, and a "in your own words" quick guide (if possible).

I would highly appreciate this.

The best quick guide is on the wiki itself https://github.com/HuskyDG/initrd-magisk/wiki/How-to-install-initrd-magisk
But I can give some tips.
If you installed Bliss OS from USB on NTFS partition, then your initrd.img will also be in EFI partition, mount it and copy initrd-magisk.
You must know where the Android x86 installation directory is if you installed using Advanced Android x86 installer.
If you don't want to use GitHub actions unofficial download here https://github.com/AndroidOS-PRO/initrd-magisk/releases

thanks for your reply, I have come across that wiki link many times, but I could not find anywhere where to download "initrd-magisk", the unofficial link helps me get to the next step which I can easily figure out what to do, I really appreciate your help.

github initrd-magisk
fork this project
run actions and get initrd-magisk
Bliss-v15.8.3-x86_64-UNOFFICIAL-gapps-202212 The initrd magisk can be used, and the application can obtain root permission, but it cannot be changed in actual operation/system

After reading about this update, I've downloaded Bliss-v14.10 (both foss & opengapps), I been testing these builds on my 2in1 "Dell 7320 Detachable" PC tablet:

- Root;
on the previous build (20221223), I could NOT achieve root at all after spending many days trying many known rooting methods.(headache). This newer build (20230107) i used the app "root checker" and also checked this app on KernelSU, showing that the system is rooted, but was always rejected when using rooting apps and most importantly, I could not delete anything from the root directory in order to debloat.
Now I reinstalled the build (20230107), but this time with Gearlock custom Recovery, I loaded into into gearlock and used the supercharge feature (Converts "system.efs" To "system.img", as well it creates another "initrd") Now gained proper root access as long as I added any root related app onto KernelSU. please to say I finally got root access after braking my head for several days on the older build.

Auto Rotation;
on the previous build (20221223) the screen orientation was to forced at the same orientation, it would not auto rotate when turning the tablet at will, it will only rotate with certain gyro sensor games (which confirms that rotation is indeed operating).
now on this newer build (20230107),i thought this update had fixed the rotation issue, sometimes it would work and some other times it would not, then after 5 neck braking hours trying figure how make rotation properly work, I concluded Auto rotation would only work under these conditions:
1)Bliss Launcher must be default launcher or set as always
2)Power adapter must be connected (charging)
3)You Must no load anything or swipe/touch the screen anything from the home screen (but can you turn the tablet & it will rotate)

The moment you swipe to view notifications, load an app from the home-screen or just do anything, the auto-rotation gets instantly killed, which renders auto rotate useless. As silly as it sounds, it won't auto-rotate under these 3 conditions without the power cable bring attached.

This Seems like this update is a step closer to fixing the auto-rotate issue, many old apps still work and runs smooth.

SwANGLE (SwiftShader Vulkan + ANGLE EGL)
After add ANGLE=1, video does not work.
Update from 21.01.23 | Telegram News
Code:
add_entry "$live - Gralloc1/2 (for any GPU)" quiet HWC=drm_minigbm GRALLOC=minigbm ANGLE=1
add_entry "$live - Gralloc4 (for AMD Radeon)" quiet HWC=drm_minigbm GRALLOC4_MINIGBM=1 ANGLE=1
I don't even expect ANGLE EGL to work from the beginning so it can't even play video is expected. Also remember ANGLE need a backend to use it, here it need Vulkan.

  • You kind of wrote that HASVK=1 and RADV=1 do not need to be added to turn on Vulkan (on Intel and Radeon). But I still have a result (acceleration of the system) after turning them on.
Because it's automatically detect now ? RADV=1 and HASVK=1 doesn't even exist now.

Code:
Write, how do I turn on SwiftShader too?
software rendering need nomodeset or HWACCEL=0

-> Download Bliss OS <-

But if you, like me, do not like the multi-window mode (PC-Mode) and you want to bring back the good old tablet mode. Attached android.cfg file for replacement. If you are interested in looking at the code, open the spoiler. For replacing / editing the android.cfg file can be done using grub2win or DiskGenius. Optional

What has been added?
  • Virtual Wifi mode (for Ethernet Cable)
  • Mode for run AMD Radeon and Nvidia
  • Choice between FFMPEG (for older GPUs)
1. Launch DiskGenius (app)
2. ESP(0) -> EFI -> Android
3. Replace Android.cfg file
4. Restart your computer
Code:
add_entry "$live Live-CD Mode" quiet
add_entry "$live Live-CD + FFMPEG" quiet FMPEG_CODEC=1 FFMPEG_PREFER_C2=1
add_entry "$live Live-CD + Ethernet cable" quiet FMPEG_CODEC=1 FFMPEG_PREFER_C2=1 VIRT_WIFI=1
add_entry "$live Run only for Intel iGPU" quiet HWC=drm_minigbm_celadon GRALLOC=minigbm
add_entry "$live For Intel iGPU + FFMPEG" quiet HWC=drm_minigbm_celadon GRALLOC=minigbm FMPEG_CODEC=1 FFMPEG_PREFER_C2=1
add_entry "$live If you have AMD Radeon" quiet HWC=drm_minigbm GRALLOC=minigbm
add_entry "$live For all GPU + FFMPEG" quiet HWC=drm_minigbm GRALLOC=minigbm FMPEG_CODEC=1 FFMPEG_PREFER_C2=1
