so let me give you a backstory i tried to install phoenix , prime os and dark matter os[i tried all of them seperatly] but in all of them showed disorted screen when boot up .at first i gave up but then i see this post[solutions of this post]

Hello everyone

So let me give you a little back story,
I Installed PhoenixOS exe from Official website, installed, restarted to boot on the system, scratched/distorted screen happens when the welcome window first time appears.
that got fixed (don't know how) by burning the PhoenixOS.iso on a USB Flash and formatting the partition to EXT4, the screen was kind of cropped on the right and the whole screen looked foggy but not distorted, still unplayable.

Now I switched Darkmatter since PhoenixOS is outofdate
I did a normal install using the guided windows installation using the exe
when I finished the install, proceeded with the package choosing in boot console to Darkmatter
then it told me to switch to GUI using Alt+F7
Here's how the screen appeared:

so and i tried again they said to update kernal and mesa so i tried update using recovery mod and it says error update gearlock . so how can i update gearlock in recovery mode pls tell me
my specs prcessor:AMD Ryzen 3 PRO 3200G with Radeon Vega Graphics 3.60 GHz
installed ram: 4 GB

Could you share him your initrd.img and gearlock file zipped from your darkmatter installation if available and possible?

That would make it way easier but I do not have darkmatter installed . So i cannot give him now .

Download the installer from windows and copy it on your DarkMatter partition.

Boot into recovery mode and use the virtual terminal option.

Later run this command:

cd /gearlock/gearroot
chmod 755 gearlock
./gearlock

i have updated gearlock , initrd and radisk.img paste it in the darkmatter folder where u have installed ur os then install kernel and mesa through recovery mode and reboot , btw i also had this problem

so when i pasted the gearlock on darkmatter os . recovery mode appeared disorted screen what i should do can you tell me step by step

FYI, you need to boot with the option that doesn't state NOGFX in the menu title.

yes i selected that one but it boots into darkmatter with disorted screen
