Hi.

Is there an ISO option that can be burned as a bootable installer onto a USB stick?

When I use Phoenix OS I download the ISO installer, burn it to a USB stick, then use that stick to directly install POS to either a separate partition on my Windows system drive, a separate drive or a separate USB stick.

I use the option of creating two partitions, a FAT boot partition for GRUB and an EXT4 partition for the OS.

I can merge Dark Matter elements into the Phoenix OS USB installer but when I do this there are certain things missing, including the 'gearload' folder which means I can't add any new kernels or MESA variations.

I'm looking at doing the same with Dark Matter as I would like to install it where I want. Plus, I'm getting virus and trojan warnings on Windows 10 when using the the Dark Matter installer which stops the installation.

Cheers,
Dave.

you can use DM 4.4 ISO & flash it in USB then just copy & replace DM 4.6 files (system.img initrd, kernel & gearload folder & findme) to it.
also you can manually make gearload folder in root drive & copy kernel & mesa it will still work.
also we are updating Gearlock version 6.0 so that it can be used with some older versions Darkmatter & other android x86 too.
we've postponed this DM4.6 ISO because we wanted to add few cool features in it which requires alot of time.
and the good news is most of the work is done by @AXON so you won't have to wait longer.
i suggest you to join our discord if possible, so that you can directly contact me & other devs anytime & provide logs from your different hardware builds.

Hi Night.

Thanks for that, I'll try it out later.

Will this still give the options from 4.6 where you can swap kernels at boot?

Will it also allow for kernel and MESA updating via the gearload folder?

I only ask as I've found these functions of Dark Matter to be super useful and the reason why I've not touched Wotrex's ROCs or any other X86 variation since coming across Dark Matter.

It really is mega convenient to be able to swap and test the kernels and MESA versions so easily, especially for someone like me who doesn't understand the Android/Linux structure and who's useless with a CLI and only ever used GUI based OSs. I also try out many hardware configurations between four or five systems, so this live switching makes testing hardware configurations so much easier and better.

I'll try and post an example later of where I'm up to using Dark Matter with a UHD 630 for PUBG. There's a lot of issues with the UI and you can't control certain GPU functions such as resolution and frequency and the UI is quite slow compared to a lesser powerful but more compatible CPU/GPU. BUT, there's are certain combinations of kernel and MESA that work amazingly well for the actual game rendering, it's seriously the best X86 PUBG graphics that I've managed to get.

I've joined the Discord server but it's the first time I've used Discord and I'm still getting used to its UI, I tend to find the basic layout of forums a lot easier to use and communicate on.

Cheers,
Dave.

Which files can I copy from DM 4.6 into USB of 4.4?
Do i need to include all other kernel files (kernel.4130, kernel.benares & kernel.comet)
Please let me know. Thanks in advance.
